What is the difference between cast and blown stretch wrap?

The primary difference between cast and blown stretch wrap lies in their manufacturing processes, clarity, and performance.
Cast stretch wrap is produced by melting plastic resin and feeding it through a flat die. It is cooled quickly on large rollers, resulting in a smooth, clear wrap that is quieter to unwind. Cast wrap is ideal for applications requiring visibility of the wrapped product due to its superior transparency. However, it offers less puncture resistance and has lower cling strength compared to blown wrap.
Blown stretch wrap, on the other hand, is created by blowing air through molten plastic to form a bubble, which is then cooled slowly. This method produces a stronger, more durable wrap with higher puncture resistance and better cling. However, it is noisier when unrolled and has a cloudy appearance.
The choice between the two depends on the application: cast wrap for visibility and quiet use, and blown wrap for heavy-duty protection.
